SxS ExpressCards / MxM Adapter

The MxM expresscard/34 adapter has been specifically designed and manufactured for use in Sony's EX1 / EX3 and EX1R professional video cameras.

* The main aim of the MxM Adapter is to allow cheaper SDHC cards to be used as a recording media within Sony's EX cameras as an alternative to SxS. Simply insert a SDHC card into the MxM Adapter and then insert the adapter into the video camera.

* The MxM utilises a very reliable push-in / push-out mechanism and is embodied in a rugged stainless steel case, which minimises accidental damage. The MxM Expresscard/34 Adapter has been field tested and only good high specification SDHC cards are recommended. We currently recommend Transcend and PhotoFast Class 10 SDHC Cards.

* The MxM decreases production costs and has helped make the Sony EX1/EX3/EX1R more affordable to professional film makers, hence reducing the cost of footage per hour.

* Please note an SDHC card is not included. SDHC cards must not be used out of the MxM adapter.

MXM070: This reader is exclusively designed for USB SxS ExpressCards* and the MxM ExpressCard (the adapter which allows SDHC Cards to be used instead of costly SxS ExpressCards) for use with Sony’s EX1 / EX3 and EX1R professional video cameras.

The reader is a slim metallic design and is USB 2.0 compliant and comes supplied with a USB connection cable. It accepts 54mm ExpressCards as well as 34mm ExpressCards.

If you use SDHC cards with the MxM ExpressCard in your Sony EX1 / EX3 or EX1R camera, you should NOT remove the SDHC card and use a conventional memory card reader to access/transfer footage to computer, because this will corrupt data.
